This virus has stopped the entire world, it’s almost like we are all on the same level playing field – we are in this together. The virus has caught our attention But has God caught our attention.
Government have money when they said they didn’t have any money Companies are adapting to conferences Churches having services online, where they didn’t have e-church they have to have it now.
It’s like we’ve been so busy in life now God’s got our attention. The times where we couldn’t do certain things Because we were so busy, now we don’t have any excuses so we mustn’t be fearful and wonder what’s next – we must use this time effectively and wisely.
Now IS THE TIME
- That idea you always said you don’t have time for? – Now is the time
- That project that was on pause – Now is the time
- When you didn’t have time to pray, study or read the word – Now is the time
- When you didn’t spend enough time with the family because of work – Now is the time
- We don’t have any excuse this time because Now is the time
Time Is a Revealer
Using Time Wisely
- the ability to govern and discipline oneself by the use of reason.
- sagacity or shrewdness in the management of affairs.
- skill and good judgment in the use of resources.
- caution or circumspection as to danger or risk.
The government have told us the lockdown will last for 3 weeks, now they are saying another 3 weeks.
We really don’t know how long this lockdown will be for.
Have you thought about what you’ll do in the next 3 weeks? If things go back to normal are you ready to resume? If things don’t go back to normal are you ready to adapt.
The prudent think carefully! How are you thinking about the future? Are you considering your steps or just reacting to everything you hear on the news and on WhatsApp, on social media.
Proverbs 14:23 (TPT) – If you work hard at what you do, great abundance will come to you. But merely talking about getting rich while living to only pursue your pleasures brings you face-to-face with poverty. The talking stages of your projects, plans and future is over, it’s now you actually getting to work and making a start on them.
The talking stages of your projects, plans and future is over, it’s now time you actually get to work and make a start on them.
why should I use my time wisely?
Ephesians 5:16 – Redeem The Times, For They Are Evil.
Psalm 90:12 – Teach us to number our days.
Jesus is coming soon! If these things aren’t a warning I’m not sure what else can happen before we get the message.
We don’t know how long we will be in this period for, it’d be a shame to come out of this time and be exactly the same when you entered it.
What will you use your time for?
What you do now will affect how you will navigate in the next season What you sow you’ll reap – Galatians 6:7.
A seed planted today doesn’t become a tree overnight it takes time, and even with that time the seed must be watered, put in a good soil/good environment suited for the seed, once it starts growing if its pruned properly it can begun to bear good or bad fruit.
Matthew 7:17-20 – Good & Bad Fruit This is the best time to seek God’s kingdom and his righteous, seeking the face of God. We’ve got no distraction, no real excuses. We can be in a place to hear from God, write down what he wants to do in the next phase of our lives.
READ GENESIS 6:9 Noah was building during evil times.
Noah had to be in a place, relationship to hear clearly from God Building to the pattern/instructions.
Noah was the only blameless man in his time Noah had to build according to the plan, pattern and instructions of God v.14-16.
Noah had NEVER seen rain come from the heavens, he had never seen a flood before – they had rivers (Genesis 1& 2).
He was building something unique, it had never been done before If he didn’t build the Ark properly he and his family couldn’t have survived Chapt 7. v17 Chapter 8. v13-15.
Even though they saw the ground looked dry, Noah still waited until God told him to come out of the Ark. v20 –
Noah built around the altar and offered sacrifices up to God with the clean animals he had taken If he didn’t get all the clean animal he couldn’t have built an altar and put a sacrificed burnt offerings In a time where Noah was in Lockdown he had still had to listen to God carefully as the safety of his family depended on it.
Are you listening to God careful in this lockdown period?
Practical Things To Do
We must be disciplined in this time. Put on a schedule or routine.
We may have not noticed that work-life has put us in a schedule, we wake up, Shower, pray, do our devotion at a certain time so we can get into work, then have a lunch break.
Habakkuk 2:2 Write the vision and make it plain. Write down your ideas, your plans, what you need to make it happen.
Pray & fast about your plan or ideas – Nehemiah did before he went to the King.
It’s also wise to rest! Stop and look around, take a pause in life.
Learn a new skill or take a course – Free Courses on Open University & Harvard University.
Spiritual Growth – where you want to know more about topics in the Bible.
