Jesus came to set the captives free in every sense of the word. Our reference point is Obadiah chapter 1 verse 17 which states, “But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, And there shall be holiness; The house of Jacob shall possess their possessions” NKJV.
Also, in Matthew chapter 6 verse 13 says “And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen” NKJV.
In the series “Mystery Of Deliverance” Apostle Joshua Selman Nimmak we will be looking at how God wants to manifest the deliverance He has wrought through the sacrifice of Jesus by helping us understand the place of deliverance in our redemption. This is the place of Mount Zion.
Part 1
Our cry to God, therefore, is in accordance with the word of God in Psalm chapter 102 and verse 13, “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come” NKJV.
Part 2
Before deliverance, there is a system of bondage and God gives us redemption and deliverance.
Exodus chapter 6 verse 6 – God promised to bring the children of Israel out of bondage, to deliver and redeem them from oppression. Exodus chapter 1 verse 11.
In Colossians chapter 1 verse 13 to 14.
Apostle Selman defines it this way, “Deliverance is a system for experientially establishing the victory and authority of Jesus Christ over Satan, demons and all the power of darkness concerning our life.”
Our job as believers is to enforce the word of God that we have received by revelation.
Satan and his demonic host thrive on the following 3 factors that appear to veto our authority:
- Covenant. Someone in our bloodline has entered into a covenant with satanic forces that need to be broken upon Mount Zion (place of deliverance) with the help of the Holy Spirit.
- Ignorance. Where there is a lack of spiritual illumination Satan and demons will thrive.
- Disobedience. This authorises the gate of hell to prevail over the saints.
Don’t be deceived by a lack of knowledge or understanding of the body of truth being revealed her to the church, see 2 Peter chapter 2 verses 12 to 13. Also, Revelation chapter 12 verse 9 – the devil has been deceiving and manipulating mankind playing on our senses.
To be free from deception we need to be grounded in God’s word and wise. Watch and pray that you do not enter into temptation.
Part 3
Don’t give Satan an advantage by being ignorant of his devices, methodology and devices, see 2 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 11. We are learning this as it’s time for the Church to possess their possession. In Romans chapter 7 verse 18, Paul lets us all into the truth we may have glazed over – that in the flesh nothing good dwells. Galatians chapter 5 verses 16 through to 21 tells us to walk in the spirit to launch warfare on the flesh so as to inherit the Kingdom of God.
In Colossians chapter 3 verses 16 to 17 tells us the word of God must dwell in us as Believers, richly – meaning it must produce results. In Matthew 13 verses 25 to 30, we understand the place of deliverance knowing that the enemy sows tares among the good seeds, but at the time of harvest is the time to separate the good from the bad in this life. 2 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 11 warns us to be on alert spiritually, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices” (KJV)
Part 4
Jesus ministry showed many times that there was a spiritual influence behind many cases of deliverance he performed. Deliverance for a believer is meant to be permanent, not ongoing.
In Mark chapter 5 verse 12 to 15 tells us about deliverance and transformation as the man delivered was found delivered and sitting in his right mind listening to the teachings of Jesus. This is sustainable results produced through enlightenment.
It is the renewing of our minds that brings about deliverance, see Romans chapter 12 verses 1 and 2.
